Introduction to Trainer skills

City & Guilds 7300-01 Introduction to Trainer Skills award.

Training others is a key management skill and you do not have to be a full time trainer to have training responsibilities.  Most managers and supervisors will find themselves, at some point, taking on the role of the trainer and this course provides the opportunity for managers, supervisors and trainers to develop these necessary skills.

Who will benefit?

All people seeking to develop their skills in planning and delivering training sessions. This includes those starting out on careers as full time trainers and also managers and supervisors who are finding an increasing need to train people at work.
This is an intensive and practical course, delivered over two days, which provides the participants with a sound introduction to the concepts of a systematic approach to training.

Content:

The course is based on the training cycle and covers:

·   planning    (including session planning)

·   delivery      (participants will plan and deliver a 10 or 15 minute session)

·   evaluation (self, peer group and course evaluation)

The course also covers:

·   setting ground rules

·   use of icebreakers

·   the learning environment

·   training resources

·   gaining and maintaining attention

·   motivation

·   assessment

The knowledge and practical skills gained on the course will be assessed by a multiple choice test and an observation (by the course tutor) of the participants’ delivered session, on which they will receive formal feedback. The observation session gives participants the opportunity to demonstrate that they have absorbed the knowledge and developed the skills necessary to be an effective trainer.

Cost:

COST BUSTER: Only £275 plus VAT, plus a City and Guilds registration fee of £46.60 per person, which includes training, registration, certification, refreshments, lunches and all course handouts.
